Some say the "Holy Grail" for the success of the EV industry is an electrical storage unit, or "ultracapacitor," which uses nano-technology. This ultracapacitor is supposed to be extremely efficient, perhaps, replacing our best, battery technology. One stealthy company,
EESTOR, located in Cedar Park, Texas, claims to be developing an ultracapacitor made with barium-titanate, which is non-toxic. EESTOR also claims thier ultracapacitor can be charged in under 5 minutes, and allow a small, electric vehicle to travel over 200 miles. Can this be true? Are there companies in Minnesota working on this type of technology? How about 3M?
